TABLEAU WORKSHOP

Date: 7 March, 2016

With job opportunities growing at an exponential rate in the data analytics and visualization field, APM and Undergraduate Consulting Club teamed up to help GT students be a part of this revolution. To accomplish this vision, we hosted a Tableau workshop for all the members. We have invited Christopher Beck, someone comes from an IT background encompassing many SAP technologies and worked as a SAP consultant, as our honor speaker.

The event was held on campus at Instructional Center room 105 from 7 PM to 9 PM. A sample dataset in Tableau format was given to all the students at the event. Christopher was able to cover most of the basic and common techniques and present them in the most understandable way to all the students. Students at the events are mostly ISyE students. With their strong background of Data analytics and critical thinking, they were able to pick up the learning material with ease.

Food was provided by APM and UCC as well. Students reflected that more similar events should take place in the future as they serve as a great supplement to classroom learning.
